I picked up my first DSLR camera in 2015 shortly before retirement when I also stopped competing my horses. Since then, I have devoted time and much attention to fostering my photographic skills by means of courses and workshops – and by practising my craft at every available opportunity.
After joining Leighton Buzzard Photographic Club, I began entering prints for competitions, obtaining several wins and accolades and finding success also, at the Bucks County Show. Many of the images displayed here are competition winners.
I am a member of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain and have launched the rigorous process of working towards my Distinctions, the first of which is the Licentiate. In November 2023 my first submission was assessed and accepted following which I proudly accepted an invitation to become a RPS Licentiate.
I do not limit myself to a particular photographic genre. I use my camera to capture town and city life in the UK and abroad and my lifelong experience of animal husbandry and competition has been put to good use in producing high quality animal pictures. My cameras and I can also be found trackside or in the pits, at major motorsport venues such as Silverstone. My love affair with the camera has taken me to South Africa, Kenya, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Germany and Italy, and through much of the UK. In 2024, Iceland, Finland, Auschwitz, Birkenhau and the Great Migration to the Serengeti were added to my portfolio.
When I am not photographing outdoor locations, I apply my creative skills to the studio, using advanced computer skills and embracing new technology to enhance my images, often crafting them into stunning fine art presentations.
I have built a strong local and wider reputation for powerful, captivating photographs which I hope you’ll enjoy viewing, as much as I enjoyed creating them.
